The Avril Lavigne Foundation R.O.C.K.S. Respect, Opportunity, Choices, Knowledge, and Strength in support of children and youth living with serious illnesses and disabilities.
It is our mission to:
- Respect the needs of all children and youth, no matter their circumstances, and encourage others to do the same;
- Create the Opportunity for children and youth with serious illnesses or disabilities to follow their dreams;
- Offer Choices so children and youth see they have many options in life and not just a single path defined by their circumstances;
- Provide Knowledge about what is possible to children, youth and their families through new program ideas that The Avril Lavigne Foundation will support and help expand;
- Give kids and their families the Strength to face their daily challenges.
Award-winning singer/songwriter and philanthropist Avril Lavigne created The Avril Lavigne Foundation in early 2010.
The Avril Lavigne Foundation partners with leading charitable
organizations to design and deliver programs, raise awareness and
mobilize support for children and youth living with a serious illness or
a disability.

I am so
excited to announce the launch of my foundation, The Avril Lavigne
Foundation. I have always looked for ways to give back because I think
it’s a responsibility we all share. The Avril Lavigne Foundation will
allow me to support the causes I really care about in a more meaningful
way, and hopefully inspire you to join us. I also really want your help
in shaping The Avril Lavigne Foundation, so I will be asking you guys

Avril Lavigne Foundation T-Shirts on Black...
Hi Everyone, Great news! A special t-shirt I’ve designed with Live Nation to support the Avril Lavigne Foundation is now available at my shows on the Black Star Tour in Canada! For every stop on the Canada tour, I’ve had the opportunity to invite youth from local Easter Seals affiliates to attend my show. Being able to see them at my shows every night reminds me of what inspired me to create the Avril Lavigne Foundation. We’ve been working hard this year at the Foundation with our partners to design programs and mobilize support for children with serious illnesses or disabilities. I blogged about the start of the Avril Lavigne Rockstar Club in Topeka, Kansas last week – that was just the beginning of some of the great stuff we have planned for the Foundation. Rockstar Club Update & Letter from a Mom
Last month Avril visited the Avril Lavigne Rockstar Club at Easter Seals in Southern California. She made chimes, danced, and sang karaoke with the kids who participate in the Rockstar Club. She wrote Avril the below letter, which we wanted to share with our supporters. The Easter Seals program has been vital for my son to have after-care once school is over. He goes to Easter Seals with peers with disabilities and they have activities that are meaningful to them; singing, computers, videos and most importantly music.There is just something universal about the importance and understanding of music to the brain that these children, with cognitive disabilities, understand. My son, Timmy is nonverbal and has autism. Since 6 mos old he has always responded to music. He can read and is absolutely mesmerized and motivated by the karaoke machine.
